Graham and Zeke at the 2018 Nashville Film Festival!

May 23, 2018 By Allie Leave a Comment

Our latest short film, GRAHAM AND ZEKE, had its Southeastern premiere at the Nashville Film Festival last week! Produced as a collaboration with Women in Film and Television-MTSU (the student organization I founded in 2015 to inspire my women students to become writers/directors/producers), the students were able to walk the red carpet and see their work on the big screen for the first time!

What a fantastic festival…so excited to have been a part of it again this year. Much gratitude to Graham Bell and Zeke Miller, who were so amazing in sharing their story with us. Congrats also to Cheryl Monique, who co-produced and directed this film…it was her first film ever to be accepted into a film festival, and surely not the last!

Craft Content Nashville 2018

In 2018, I was a featured speaker at Craft Content Nashville, speaking about feminism and VR/360 production. What a thrill to be featured in this podcast by Clark Buckner with Relationary Media (thanks guys!).

Thanks also to Carla Fox and the entire staff of volunteers who put on Craft Content Nashville! If you haven’t been to the conference, you should make a point to attend next year. It’s a very inspiring gathering of content creators who work in all aspects of the digital world, from Nashville and beyond!

2018 – DOCUMENTARY SHORT – TRT 8:00

A transgender couple from Tennessee share their insights surrounding love, gender, and pet snakes.

PRODUCERS NOTE:  We made this film to give a voice to trans people in the South (and across the United States) who are otherwise ignored, ridiculed, misunderstood and outright discriminated against out of fear and ignorance.

In Tennessee, and across the South, transgender people face a daily struggle in the search for equal protection under the law. From so-called “bathroom bills” to laws restricting their ability to change their sex on legal documents, not to mention the personal and familial challenges as you transition, life is not easy nor fair for trans folk.

Graham Bell and Zeke Miller are navigating life mid-transition. Through this film they invite us into their lives, openly discussing the ups and downs that they face in their journey to a more perfect union.
